8 Things to Know: Seattle Cheese and Meat Festival

Save the date…and prepare your taste buds. The Cheese and Meat Festival returns to Seattle at McCaw Hall on April 28. Tickets are available here.

Here are eight things you should know:

  1. Bang For Your Buck

What do you get for the cost of your ticket? Forget the tokens. Your Festival experience is all about the pairings. Indulge in cheese, charcuterie (meat), and accompaniments (pickles, jams, etc.), while pairing them with wine, beer, cider, and spirit samples that are curated by industry experts. Upon entry, you will be given a charcuterie board to take home and a tasting glass. Each 2.5-hour session gives you a chance to connect with artisan cheese and meat producers, dedicated to showing off the products they are most proud of. Enjoy the delicacies while perusing around the luxurious atrium lobby.

  1. The Venue

Unique, open, and historic. Minutes away from the iconic Space Needle, the McCraw Hall sits in the heart of downtown Seattle. Get ready to walk into an open concept lobby with floor to ceiling windows as you interact with the vendors and fellow taste adventurers. The warm atmosphere hosts some of the best traveling and local theatre, music, and entertainment.

  1. A One-Of-A-Kind Experience

This is the only event of its kind in Seattle, with over 60 vendors showcasing their beautiful products. Meet the makers in an intimate atmosphere where you can learn about the process that goes into making fine artisan cheese and meat. Expect live demos and seminars to excite your inner foodie, and the accessible nature of the Festival means you do not have to choose what you indulge in: you can have it all.

  1.  A Learning Opportunity

We want you to come away with a lasting experience that will make you more knowledgeable the next time you grocery shop for your next party. A panel of restaurateurs, chefs, and grocery stores have come together to create a pairing guide that will be in all 2018 Brochures. We choose the purveyors based on how well their products pair with each other, allowing you to fill your charcuterie board with tastes that heighten your palate.

  1. Sourced Both Locally and Internationally

We are dedicated to supporting our local businesses, with the Seattle Cheese and Meat Festival bringing in vendors that create their products right in the heart of the city. In addition, we are bringing in international vendors that will be sure to rock your taste buds. The Festival brings together artisans far and wide, so you don’t have to travel to get the best cheese and meat onto your plate.

  1. You Know the Source

We invest in vendors that are ethically responsible. It is important to be conscious of the businesses we support, and we have chosen vendors that value ethically sourced products, high-quality ingredients, and transparency of how the products arrive on your plate.

  1. We are excited to have you

Food is meant to be shared. Our heart beats with the community, and we are excited to go through this journey of tasting with you. This also means being connected to all parts of the community, and we have partnered with local community kitchens to restore a sustainable, empowered, and comfortable life for the most vulnerable in our community. Together, we are committed to providing a culture of love, connection, and excellence.

  1. Taste Something You Love? Bring It Home With You.

You won’t have to drive to 20 states to taste the products of 60 vendors. Did you try something you love at the Festival? We will have an on-site store with all of your favorite products from our vendors. Better yet, you will have met the vendor who made it for you.
